GENERAL EDUCATION

11-25 1343
Abstract

The purpose of the publication is to draw attention of educators
of all levels to the need of improving quality of teacher training in research field.

Methods. Based on the results of observations, interviews and surveys of teachers aged between 23 and 30 years with teaching experience of 1 to 5–6 years, and analysis of teacher practice, the assessment of the current state of innovation processes in public school and quality of university training of pre-service teachers in research field is given.

Results. Insufficient training of young teachers for independent research has been revealed. It was established that the research experience acquired by them while writing the final qualifying work is non-demanded in modern educational work, where innovation is pushed out due to mismatch of educational policy and the actual educational practice. The reasons of reluctance of young professionals to combine educational activities and research are the following: lack of innovation environment, academic overload, household and personal problems, and, most importantly, unwillingness and inability to carry out independent scientific and pedagogical search. Also, the problems of final qualifying works supervision and management of pedagogical practice of students have been found out.

Scientific novelty. Self-assessment of young teachers, concerning their research activities, has been conducted; it included a cluster of research activities that constitute its subject matter. The point for the need to abandon the narrow,  focused specialization in high school training of pre-service teachers and enhance their methodological preparation has been developed.

Practical significance. Different ways of organizing work with in-service teachers concerning combination of subject specific and research specific aspects of their professional activities have been presented.

METHODOLOGY PROBLEMS

Abstract

The research is aimed at investigating the possibility of reforming
of professional-pedagogical education on the base of process and project approaches. The urgency of this problem is caused by the changing of requirements for the modern professionals and the lack of evidence-based strategies of teacher training for vocational education system.

Methods. Methodological bases of development strategy of vocational teacher education involves process approach, that provides the continuity of the educational system management and is aimed at improving the quality of vocational training; and project approach oriented to the changes in the existing traditional education.

Results and scientific novelty. The authors have identified the basic trends of modernization of professional pedagogical education in the conditions of transition to the sixth technological order. Strategic benchmark is the conversion of vocational teacher education in the humanities and technological education. The condition for such transformation is the integration of process and project approaches in the management of educational systems. The authors allocated the identification characteristics of process and project approaches in the system of innovative education. Modernization of the vocational education system requires the solution of problems including the following: methodological training of teachers and the development of their readiness to innovate; definition of priority directions of science and education and innovation activities of the educational institutions; optimization the educational programs and strengthening their professional and pedagogical orientation on the basis of problem-modular design of educational content; search technology of the formation and development of socially and professionally important qualities and the competencies of teachers; scientific-pedagogical maintenance of psychological and pedagogical training and professional development of teachers. The requirements for the organization to developmental professional and educational environment and the educational process are proposed. The authors defined the topics of the targeted educational projects aimed at improving the quality of psychological and pedagogical training and improvement of the humanitarian and technological qualification of teachers of vocational school.

Abstract

The aim of the presented publication is to discuss the changes in the practice of professional higher education which consist in strengthening and emphasis of an educational component in educational process.

Methods. The methods involve the analysis of a condition of higher education and the provisions of the Federal Law on Education regulating its functioning in the Russian Federation; text-centered approach to education of the person of culture – the professional specialist, responsible for the activities.

Results and scientific novelty. It states that some drawbacks of the existing present-day education organization are being constantly discussed by a pedagogical community of the Russian Federation: the absence of development stability; the absence of effective strategies and technologies of their implementation; the triumph of national nihilism confirmed by high schools and individual scientists participation in different foreign educational projects, usually having world notorious reputation; penetration of commercial principals in to an education system, the latter having been turned in to an education service, etc. As a result the personality quality itself has greatly deteriorated as well as Russia society intellect, on the whole, according to some law, psychological, philosophical and pedagogical analysis. The article stresses that the way out maybe found in restoring Russian national traditions and lost values and returning them to Russian education via adequate upbringing process. The authors describe their innovative model comprising three directions: 1) the integral three-factor spiritual, moral and intellectual upbringing of the students; 2) specially selected text content professional information using text-centered approach and 3) peculiar interaction of two education subjects: a student and a teacher. Their cooperation envisages the following stages: first, teacher’s strict guidance of a student; then – teacher’s soft support of a student; after this – teacher’s accompanying a student at a special request and, at last, – wise consulting a student if needed. In the long run, in the author’s opinion, this system should succeed in creating some special platform for student’s further self-upbringing and self-learning. The model described in the paper is considered on the example of the discipline «A foreign language in the professional sphere». The just described model was worked out for effective foreign language education process perceived as a part of professional high-school education. Due to this system, foreign language becomes a source of professionally demanded and personally valuable information.

Practical significance. The model provided in the paper gives the chance to the student to be lifted to self-education level, to plan professional self-development and to build an individual trajectory of professional career.

PSYCHOLOGICAL RESEARCH

Abstract

The aim of the paper is to carry out historical-philosophical and
linguistic analysis of ethical and metaphysical doctrine of Aristotle on corruption in general; to discuss of formal-ethical view on the problem of corruption in basic scientific researches; to define the place and role of fundamental scientific researches in knowledge-based economy taken as a whole, and Boston Chart, in particular.

Methods. The methods involve the historical-philosophical and logical-linguistic analysis of texts; creation and studying of the elementary discrete mathematical model of the researched moral phenomenon at the level of artificial language of two-digit algebra of the natural right and morals; use of such conceptual and figurative tool of the economic theory as Boston Chart.

Results and scientific novelty. The definition of the concept «basic scientific research» is given for the first time; the concept includes time parameter and knowledge of utility (the practical importance) of results of this research.

Practical significance. The submitted definition (criterion) gives a possibility to establish at any moment of time definite borderline between the basic and the applied scientific search (the line undergoes change in the flow of time). The effective criterion of basic scientific researches offered by the author, and also exact specifying of their place and role in lifecycle of knowledge as goods in market economy (at the conceptual level of the Boston Chart) allow to designate an urgent problem of corruption of the scientific sphere in a new perspective. Along with some additional conditions, this new evidence could help to solve the problem.

QUALIMETRIC APPROACH IN EDUCATION

88-104 1342
Abstract

The purpose of the article is to describe the taxonomic model that
allows diagnosing the levels of formation of the basic competencies of educators and parents in the conditions of realization of the federal state educational standard in preschool organizations.

Methods. The methods of the research are based on qualimetric and competence approaches, which assume pedagogical expertise of the structure, content and levels of formation of basic competencies of subjects of educational process in the system of preschool education.

Results. The need of formation of basic competences of teachers of the preschool educational institutions (PEI) and parents of the kindergarten children is proved. It is shown how this process has to be reproduced in the individual educational routes directed to creation of optimum conditions for development of the child of early age.

Scientific novelty. A multi-functional taxonomic model of competencies formation among teachers and parents is proposed. This model reflects competenceoriented educational objectives of the members of educational process in preschool education, and makes it possible to examine the extent of its achievement.

Practical significance. Presented in the article taxonomic model can be used in the system of retraining and advanced training of educators of preschool organizations, as well as training of parents of preschool children to the implementation of the Federal State Educational Standard of preschool education.

PSYCHOLOGICAL RESEARCH

105-116 1952
Abstract

The aim of the article is to reveal the content of the concept of
socio-psychological adaptation.

Methods. In the course of work theoretical methods of research are used: an overview and synthesis of approaches to the study of such a theoretical construct as adaptation and disadaptation; practical methods: methods of diagnostics of socio-psychological adaptation by K. Rogers and P. Diamond (SPA) and multi-factor personality questionnaire by R. Cattell (CPQ). The research is summative. Statistical processing is carried out using the computer programs STATISTICA 6.0 and MS Excel; the method of multiple regression analysis is used to highlight the personal factors influencing the level of adaptation of pupils of the Suvorov military school.

Results. According to the empirical study, the authors describe the obtained factors of socio-psychological adaptation and disadaptation of adolescents enrolled in the course at Suvorov military school of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. The results of empirical research of features of adolescents’ adaptation to the conditions of a military educational institution are presented. Special attention is paid to the selection of personality traits characterizing the failure probability of disadaptation. The authors justified the need and described the possibility of organizing a psychological-pedagogical support of adolescents at the initial stage of studying in military educational institution of the closed type.

Scientific novelty. The article proposes the authors’ approach to the concept of socio-psychological adaptation; the main indicators of successful socio-psychological adolescents’ adaptation to the conditions of Suvorov military school are identified; the indicators that predict the risk of the failure probability of disadaptation are given. It is concluded that the development of adaptive capacity should be achieved through personal components.

Practical significance. The «targets» of the correctional developing influence at the stage of adaptation of teenagers to educational activity in the closed military school are allocated. Promising directions of change in emphasis in the content of psychological and pedagogical support of adolescents at the initial stage of study in Suvorov military school of the defense Ministry are noted. The materials and results of the study described in the article can be used while developing adaptation programmes of younger adolescents to training in pre-University educational institutions of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

Abstract

The aim of the article is to show the possibilities of formation of
new approaches to the development of additional interdisciplinary competencies of university youth in modern conditions.

Methods. The methods involve such theoretical methods as analysis of scientific literature and documents, generalization of empirical data.

Results and scientific novelty. The article includes experience of many years in the sphere of development of students’ additional interdisciplinary competencies of the National Research Tomsk State University (TSU). The authors present cases of two TSU structural subdivisions: Center for Social and Professional Volunteering and Park of Social and Humanitarian Technologies. The effective educational technologies proposed by the authors are analysed. Transition from the theoretical (knowledge) training of students to practically-oriented training is an actual trend today. A graduate of a modern university should have a broad vision, communication skills, desire for cooperation, self-development, creative application of gained knowledge and lifelong learning, in other words –the development of students’ additional interdisciplinary competencies. In this regard, the role of students’ extracurricular practical work in a university is increasing. This work requires organizational and educational support. The article gives description and analysis of effective educational forms of technologies for development of students’ additional interdisciplinary competencies within their extracurricular activities in the mentioned above structural units of the university.

Practical significance. Higher educational establishments can use presented materials for improvement of an educational process.

NETWORK INTERACTION IN EDUCATION

Abstract

The need for an educational proposal to emerge in the Palestinian
educational context is necessary and needed to face the various challenges that the higher education is dealing with in Palestine. The centers for teaching and learning (CTEs) in the Palestinian universities should be seen as part of the effort to support the evolving process and the innovation needed to allow these higher education institutions be able to compete on local, regional and international level.

Methods. It is an approach to a contextualized education, with a significant role played by all who connects and interacts with the community environment and society needs, in order to build an educative community projects. This needs a real educative action with engagement and commitment by all role actors and stakeholders.

Results and scientific novelty. Based on personal experience I would like to transmit what I have learned and gained in my teaching and learning experiences and present an educative proposal that is based on the connection between the different educative higher institutions in Palestine. This proposal tackles social and educational challenges through a common process; it is about adapting a concrete model of Educative network in Palestine. The proposal is presenting itself as an alternative model to help the higher education to be more integrated to the society needs and to obtain the coordina tion role for innovative actions in a comprehensive way to fulfill the educational vision of being a leading body in the evolving society in conflict.

Practical significance. The purpose of this article is to offer a very practical reflective model that becomes a guidance to sustain CTEs activities and engage more faculties to positively change the learning/teaching culture of their universities. It is about how networks can help to bring about change to education in the Palestinian Universities. I believe that university policymakers and CTEs all alike will find the reasons why educative networks are fast becoming the learning reform organizations.

HEALTH SAVING TECHNOLOGIES

Abstract

The purpose of the investigation is the scientific substantiation for
the implementation of a differentiated approach to the organization of physical education on the basis of accounting students individually-typological features of the age.

Methods. Motor abilities of students are studied by measuring: force (backbone dynamometry), strength endurance (pulling up on the bar), speed-strength abilities (long jump from their seats), as well as high-speed capacity (running at 30, 60 or 100 meters, depending on the age), aerobic endurance (running at 1000 or 3000 m, depending on age). The dynamics of the integrated physical preparedness (DIPP) of each student is estimated by calculating the arithmetic mean value of the growth rate of the development of motor abilities listed above (the results of 5 tests). Evaluation of general intelligence (GI) of schoolchildren in 8, 10 and 11 classes, students of 1 – 3 courses carried out by the test of R. Amthauer adapted by L. A. Yasyukova [13], and the 6 classes pupils – through the intellectual test (GIT) [1].

Results. It was experimentally established that students of 6, 8, 10, 11 grades and 1 – 3 courses at higher intelligence level have a low dynamics of physical fitness. On the contrary, students with a lower level of intelligence revealed a high dynamics of physical fitness. Marked discrepancies in the dynamics of the development of mental and motor areas of maturing personality are interpreted as individual-typological features of age-related development. Based on these facts it is concluded that the organization of physical education on the basis of program-regulatory approach with common unified requirements involved, will not allow to create conditions for highquality physical education of the younger generation and the formation of a sustainable motivation for self-employment by physical exercises.

Scientific novelty. Scientific evidence of sustained differences in the dynamics of the physical fitness of students with different levels of general intelligence on the basis of experimental research is presented for the first time.

Practical significance. The findings serve as the basis for the developing a differentiated approach to the organization of physical education based on individually-typological features of the age. Different development trajectories, due to different rates closer to the level of «maturity» functions require presentation to the students differentiated by the complexity requirements of motor tasks, and as a result, the relevant criteria for evaluation of their physical readiness.
