REALIZATION OF EDUCATIONAL STANDARDS
Nowadays, the new educational standards of the second generation are being developed and implemented at all levels of school education. The above stan- dards define the social profile of the first year pupil, as well as the ones of the primary, secondary and high school leavers. The authors describe the components of manage- rial pedagogic model of the future teachers training, which complies with the task of implementing the new educational standards; the levels of such training being defined as beginners, basic and advanced. The model in question is based on the combination of intra-school professional upgrading of managerial and pedagogic staff, their self- development and the self-training course implying the activity component. For any form of staff professional development in educational sphere, both internal and exter- nal resources should be applied, their list being provided
QUALIMETRIC APPROACH IN EDUCATION
At present, the testing techniques of knowledge estimation are widely spread in educational system. However, this method is seriously criticized including its application to the Unified State Examinations. The research is aimed at studying the limitations of testing techniques. The authors recommend a new way of knowledge solid- ity estimation bases on the comparative results analysis of various kinds of tests. While testing the large group of students, the authors found out that the results of the closed and open tests substantially differ. The comparative analysis demonstrates that the open tests assessment of the knowledge solidity is more adequate than that of the closed ones. As the research is only based on a single experiment, the authors recommend using this method further, substantiating the findings concerning the differences in tests results, and analyzing the advantages and disadvantages of the tests in question.
ECONOMY AND EDUCATION
The paper estimates the regional and municipal opportunities of spa- tial development modernization in the Russian Federation. In the post-crisis period, it is necessary to facilitate the innovative processes and society oriented state develop- ment to give way to the steady transition from the regional policy to the federal state structure, which requires scientifically based decision making in all the directions of social development. The author considers the ideology of such transition and recom- mends using the systematic approach to choosing priorities and development institu- tions. Several perspective factors such as education and science are analyzed in the context of systematic regional and territorial development along with the necessity for program-project modernization of the federal state structure. The following new insti- tutions for regional development are proposed: regional and municipal self-deve- lopment, business territories, program-project planning of spatial development.
In the course of the Russian economy modernization, developing the effec- tive system of vocational training and further professional training appears to be the main condition for the dynamic competitive advantage of industrial enterprises. The paper inves- tigates the urgent issue of developing the system of additional vocational training and staff development with the reference to the ever-changing institutional logic controlling the em- ployee – employer relations. The paper presents the review of theoretic approaches to the system of additional vocational training, as well as the economic analysis and estimates of return on investment in different forms of vocational training. The methodological approach to the system efficiency estimation is given along with the factors determining the forma- tion and development of vocational training system. Based on the research findings, the recommendations integrating the staff development policy are given aimed at promoting the effectiveness of the employee – employer relations.
VOCATIONAL EDUCATION
Any practical activity of a modern specialist requires the methodology knowledge – the ability of setting and transforming goals, operating with summarized approaches and plans, creating and reconstructing them, etc. The paper deals with the role of the methodology competence in professional thinking; the subject-modeling approach to developing the professional thinking and methodology competence is considered regarding the future teachers-psychologists.
The substantiation of the above approach is given concerning the content and structure of the competence in question, as well as the students’ personal characteristics. The psychological mechanism of gaining the experience and professional thinking ability is described as interaction of two models – the cognitive and dynamic emotional ones – both reflecting the professional activity. The results of experimental work, based on such methods as analysis, theoretical modeling, supervision and polling, demon- strated the main developing factors of methodology competence: the general culture level, interest to the future profession, the professional activity presentation in educational process.
The research results imply the conclusion that the purposeful pedagogic activity based on the methodology competence is necessary for developing the future specialists’ professional thinking.
The paper is devoted to developing the research competence in the process of student multilevel training. Upgrading the student’s ability for research ac- tivity is an important task of higher education that should be continually emphasized at all levels. The author suggests the model developing the research competence in the context of mathematical disciplines studies at bachelor level of different educational profiles: mathematical, natural sciences, vocational. The model in question represents the hierarchical tree of goals based on the principals of expansion, subordination and correlative importance – all of them reflecting the links between the goals and the edu- cational levels ( bachelor or master level) - which facilitates the plan systematization for achieving the main goal of students’ research competence development.
The essential content, criteria, indices and development levels of the compe- tence in question are defined. The given approach provides the continuity in mastering the competencies at different levels in a sequential advancing from the theoretical to practical knowledge and makes it possible to avoid the formal approach to teaching the undergraduates.
PSYCHOLOGICAL RESEARCH IN EDUCATION
The paper considers the issue of teacher’s work capacity optimization. The research is aimed at defining teachers’ psychological peculiarities relating to their work capacity level and creating the assistance program for its optimization. In the course of the program implementation, its effectiveness has being proved, the low work capacity being optimized by developing self-control, emotional stability and decreasing the aggressive reactions in frustrating situations. The research findings can be applied while creating programs for teachers’ further training as well as for students training courses.
The paper summarizes the research findings concerning the influence of creativity on overcoming the barriers of teachers’ professional development. The re- search subject includes defining the interrelations between the creativity and profes- sional burn-out. The aim of the studies is to find out the influencing factors of creativ- ity eliminating the destructive trends of professional pedagogic activity.
The methodology is based on the E. E. Simanyuk’s concept describing the de- structive tendencies of teachers’ professional formation and the constructive overcom- ing strategies.
The teachers’ refresher course at Sverdlovsk Regional Institute of Education De- velopment was taken as the experimental ground for the research. The diagnostics of the psychological constructs relating to the discussed phenomena was carried out by using tests of high validity and reliability. The modern methods of mathematical statis- tics were applied.
The research outputs are of high practical importance both for designing the content of teachers’ professional development and upgrading their readiness for educa- tional innovations.
The paper presents the research results relating to the peculiarities of gender interaction in the higher vocational education, defined as being inconsistent and contradictory. The methodological basis incorporates the studies by the Russian and foreign scientists taking the androgyny as the optimal model of gender interaction.
The authors present their model of gender behavior integrating the best traits of feminine and masculine behavior in professional sphere, and based on the analysis of such concepts of gender pedagogy as gender asymmetry, the gender stereotype, the gender display, and their manifestations in educational process.
DISCUSSIONS
Using the comparative analysis method, the authors examine the evo- lutional process of the natural science methodology and the methodology of education. The outlined analogies show some definite trends of education development in the emerging post-industrial society.
It is demonstrated that the openness and correlation of the individual educa- tional activities with other co-players results in the actual cooperation of the educa- tional process.
According to the authors, the implementation ground for the distributed inter- actions in the virtual space of the Internet, capable of supporting the life long learning process of society members, should be the personal educational environment, as a part of global information environment; the former being developed and used by the individual both for personal professional realization and life-long continuing self- education.
EDUCATION ABROAD
The paper looks at the pedagogic ideas of Celestin Freinet spreading in the western countries’ educational environment. The above ideas accepted both in theoretical and practical educational spheres are highlighted along with the specifics of C. Freinet’s pedagogy maintaining its international reputation and acknowledgement. The main emphasis is placed on the retrospective analysis of works and studies by Freinet’s followers, who supported and developed his pedagogic theories and practices.
The research findings reflect the substantial influence of C. Freinet’s ideas on the educational process development, and provide the ground for analyzing both the essence and characteristic features of his pedagogy in the context of humanistic and democratic pedagogic traditions.
THE HUMANITIES IN EDUCATION
The paper analyzes the growing tendency for young people’s harden- ing. According to the authors that phenomenon is caused by such current trends as the language degradation, the militaristic and alienation vocabulary predominance re- sulting in disdainful attitude towards the surrounding people. As a pedagogic counter- action to such trends, the authors consider the revival of the forgotten domestic moral values in educational sphere. Their objective is to contemplate the necessity of enrich- ing the educational institutions by means of the national moral and cultural potential.
The research methodology basis is defined as the axiology principle substantiat- ing the humanistic importance of the specifics of teachers’ vocabulary. To demonstrate the advantages of the humanistic vocabulary educational potential the authors com- pare the specifics of such notions as generosity and tolerance. They prove that the teacher’s tolerant attitude to students deforms both the pedagogic theory and educa- tional practice. In contrast, the generous attitude favors the student’s, as well as teacher’s moral development.
The process of the youth refinement can be facilitated by the large-scale revival of half-forgotten national humanistic values and the vocabulary reflecting such values.
